Physical Security Interoperability Alliance

The Physical Security Interoperability Alliance (PSIA) was founded in February of 2008 with the objective of promoting the interoperability of IP enabled security devices. Participating companies include leaders in the security camera, video management software, access control, system integrator segments of the market.

The PSIA is a not-for-profit open industry group which will identify existing and emerging standards relevant to the physical security industry, work to enhance them to support industry requirements, and encourage their adoption by our member companies and the industry. In addition, the group will review and vet specifications that are submitted as open standards.

Santa Clara, CA - (April 2, 2009)The Physical Security Interoperability Alliance (PSIA), an industry organization created to define, recommend and promote standards for IP-enabled security devices and systems, announced today that its first developers meeting, held on March 31 in conjunction with ISC West 2009, was a success.  The PSIA developers meeting was attended by dozens of developers, who received detailed updates from each working group and viewed the first working implementation of the PSIA 1.0 API Media Device specification, just three weeks after the spec was ratified and released for public use.
